COLD WEATHER POWER-UP

Avoid raising the room temperature abruptly when it
is below 14°C [57°F], or condensation may form
inside the machine.

1. Raise the room temparature to 20°C [68°F] at

less than 10°C [18°F] per hour.

2. Wait for 30 to 60 minutes.

3. Connect the power cord.

NOTE: Do not use the machine near a humidifier.

THUNDERSTORMS

With proper grounding, about 90% of lightning damage
can be prevented. However, if possible, during severe
electric storms disconnect the power cord and
telephone line cord.

NOTE:
All fax messages stored in the memory are erased if
power cord is disconnected.

Precautions When Installing and Using the Handset

Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.

Never install the telephone jack in wet locations

Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line
has been disconnected at the network interface.

Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.

Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electrical storm.
There may be a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.

Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of leak.
