H.1 Introduction

The motherboard comes with an onboard Realtek ALC655 CODEC. The ALC655 is a

16-bit, full-duplex AC'97 Rev. 2.3 compatible six-channel audio CODEC that provides

three pairs of stereo outputs with 5-bit volume control, a mono output, and multiple stereo

and mono inputs, along with flexible mixing, gain, and mute functions.

H.1.1 Accessing the AC'97 CODEC

The CODEC is accessed through the phone jacks on the rear panel of the motherboard.

H.1.2 Driver Installation

The driver installation has been described in the driver installation chapter.

After rebooting, the sound effect configuration utility appears in the Windows Control

Panel (
