Troubleshooting and Reconfiguring

When There is a Problem

The controller is only one part of your control system. Of-
ten, what appears to be a problem with the controller is re-
ally a problem with other equipment, so check these things
first:

Controller is installed correctly. (See Chapter 2, In-
stallation
for help.)

Sensors, such as thermocouples and RTDs, are in-
stalled correctly and working.

NOTE!

If you suspect your controller has been dam-

aged, do not attempt to repair it yourself, or

you may void the warranty.

If the troubleshooting procedures in this chapter do not
solve your system’s problems, call Application Engineering
for additional troubleshooting help. If you need to return
the unit to Watlow Anafaze for testing and repair, Custom-
er Service will issue you an RMA number. See Returning
Your Unit on page 164
.

CAUTION!

Before trying to troubleshoot a problem by

replacing your controller with another one,

first check the installation. If you have short-

ed sensor inputs to high voltage lines or a

transformer is shorted out, and you replace

the controller, you will risk damage to the

new controller.
