MiniMuM sysTeM RequiReMenTs
To run the Racine HART Interface, the user must have the following:
• Microsoft Windows 98, ME, NT, or XP. (the Racine HART Interface may run with
other operating systems, but it has not been tested on them.)
• Pentium processor or equivalent.
• VGA resolution (or higher) video adapter
• Minimum of 16 MB of RAM
• 6 MB of free hard drive space
• HART modem.
insTallaTion
1) Insert the distribution CD into the CD-ROM drive. Alternately download the Racine
HART Interface from www.racinefed.com/vortex.cfm
2) Use the START button in the Windows taskbar to select RUN and type D:\setup in
the input box (Assuming D: is the CD drive.)
3) Click OK.
4) Follow the instructions in the setup program to complete installation.

The computer must be connected to a HART capable Racine vortex meter in order for the
Racine HART Interface to work properly. This connection must be made with a HART compat-
ible modem as illustrated in Appendix A.
Racine recommends the “HI 311” HART modem manufactured by Smar Research Corporation,
or Microlink 232 by Microflex.
