Interoperability with other software applications

You can create FS pairs using pair volumes for replication software applications such as BC/SS
and Continuous Access Synchronous (Cnt Ac-S). You can also create FS pairs using volumes to
which attributes are defined by Data Retention (Data Ret) or RAID Manager.

The following table shows whether you can share pair volumes by FS and other software
applications.

1.

If you use RWC to share the volume with other software applications, the pair status determines whether you can
share the volume.

You can use the RAID Manager to share the volume with other software applications; you cannot use RWC to do
this.

3.

You cannot Quick Restore.

4.

Data Ret is required to set Read Only, Protect, and S-VOL Disable attributes.
