Using the At-Time Snapshot function to acquire snapshot data for a consistency group

You can use RAID Manager’s At-Time Snapshot function to acquire snapshot data for a consistency
group. Use the RAID Manager to run the commands.
1.

Run the raidcom add snapshot RAID Manager command, using an option to specify the
consistency group number.

A consistency group is created that should be the target of the At-Time Snapshot function.

The At-Time Snapshot function is automatically enabled when you use an option to specify the
consistency group number.

2.

Run the raidcom add snapshot RAID Manager command again, specifying the same
consistency group number as specified in step 1.

You can add pairs to the same consistency group. Repeat this as many times as you want.

3.

Run the raidcom modify snapshot -snapshot_data create command on the
consistency group that is the target of the At-Time Snapshot function.

The P9500 storage system receives the command.

4.

A host issues a write request to the P-VOL of an FS pair in the consistency group.

Snapshot data is acquired.

At-Time Snapshot when Fast Snap volume shared with Cnt Ac-J and Cnt Ac-S

You can share FS P-VOLs with Cnt Ac-J or Cnt Ac-S S-VOLs within a storage system, place the FS
pairs in a consistency group, and use the At-Time Snapshot function to maintain consistency for
multiple FS S-VOLs. The following figures illustrate these configurations.
