Correction access executes to the pool-VOL in the selected pool.
•
The format function for a free space of a pool is not operating.
The following are the cases that the formatted pool capacity may decrease:
•
The system is allocating new pages.
•
The system is performing a correction copy.
1. In the Storage Systems tree, select Pools.
2. In the Pools window, complete the following:
1. From the Pools table, click the row for the pool you want to confirm free pool capacity.
2. Click More Actions > View Pool Management Status.
View the formatted pool capacity in the View Pool Management Status window.
Increasing pool capacity
You can increase the pool capacity by adding pool-VOLs to the pool. The pool capacity is calculated
by subtracting the capacity of V-VOL management areas from the total capacity of pool-VOLs in
the pool. Check the capacity of available free space in the pool and expand the pool as needed.

1. In the Storage System tree, select Pools.
2. From the list, click the pool that has a capacity you want to increase and then click Expand
Pool.
NOTE: You cannot select multiple pools to expand.
3. In the Expand Pool window, click Select Pool VOLs.
4. In the Select Pool VOLs window, complete the following, and then click OK:

In the Available Pool Volumes table, select the LDEV you want to expand, and then click
Add. The LDEV is moved to the Selected Pool Volumes table.
You can add up to 1,024 volumes (including volumes already in a pool).

To filter rows, select ON in the Filter component.
•
To select all the pool-VOLs in the list, click Select All Pages.
•
To specify the capacity unit and the number of rows to be shown, click Options.
5. In the Expand Pool window, the number of selected pool volumes and the total capacity is
shown. Click Finish.
6. In the Confirm window, complete the following and then click Apply.

For Task Name, type the name of the task.
Character limit: 32
Allowable characters and symbols: All alphanumeric except \ / : , ; * ? " < > |
Default: date-Task Name

For Go to tasks window for status, select to open the Tasks window.
The pool capacity is increased.
