Monitoring synchronous rates

You can check on the percentage of data that is synchronized between the P-VOL and S-VOLs.
You must have the Storage Administrator (Local Copy) role to monitor synchronous rates.

The FS synchronous rate shows the rate that S-VOL data matches that of the S-VOL’s next new
generation. If the S-VOL is the latest one, the synchronous rate is computed by comparing the S-VOL
with the P-VOL. The synchronous rate is a rough value and can have a large margin of error.

If the P-VOL is written in the configuration of multiple generation (the configuration between the
P-VOL and S-VOLs is 1:N), the synchronous rates for only the S-VOL of the newest generation
decrease. If the S-VOL is written to, only the synchronous rates of written generation decrease.

The following figure shows an example for synchronous rates in the configuration between the
P-VOL and S-VOLs is 1:N.

1.

In the Storage Systems tree, click Replications > Local Replications.

2.

Select the pair in the Pairs tab and then click More Actions > View Pair Synchronous Rate.

3.

In the View Pair Synchronous Rate window, click Refresh View.

The latest synchronous rate is shown.

CAUTION:

To ensure that this rate is up to date when you view the rate while restoring an

FS pair, ensure that the pair task has completed.

If you close the window, information in the Local Replications window may not be the latest.
Click Refresh View again.
