Correct pool-related Service Information Messages (SIMs) for the following, if they occur:

Reference code 601XXX: Pool usage rate exceeds the threshold.

Reference code 602XXX: Pool is blocked.

XXX indicates the pool ID. Check SIMs using the System Information/Status window in
RWC.

Reference code 602FFE: Multiple pools are blocked.

Reference code 603000: The snapshot estimated manageable capacity is less than
128TB.

Reference code 624000: There is no space available in the shared memory.

Complete the SIM and change the SIM status to completed.

Completing SIMs

1.

Complete one of the following:

(For reference code 601XXX or 602XXX) Recover the pool in the normal status.

For more information about countermeasures of these codes, see

“General troubleshooting”

(page 64)

(For reference code 603000* or 624000) Perform one of the following tasks:

a. Delete unused pools.

b. Delete unused FS pairs.

c. Delete the unused V-VOLs, created by using THP or Smart.

d. Shrink the capacity of the THP pool or Smart pool.

* In this case, you do not need to perform these tasks. However, if a long time has passes
since you have performed the task, reference code 624000 is reported.

In the Pool window, click More Actions > Complete SIM Action.

In the Confirmation window, complete the following and then click Apply.

For Task Name, type a name for the task.

Character limit: 32

Allowable characters and symbols: All alphanumeric except \ / : , ; * ? " < > |

Default: date-task name

For Go to tasks window for status, select to open the Tasks window.

Completing warning SIMs before depletion of cache management devices

The following SIM (service information message) occurs if the number of the remaining cache
management devices goes below 4,096:

Reference code 670000
