Fitting pneumatic components

6.4 Compressed air connections

Connect the inputs and outputs of the Quickstepper with the elements of your
controller according to the circuit diagram.

6.5 Sequence programs with less than 12 steps

You can use a plug set FSS−KM−8−12 (chapter 11) to short−circuit any unneeded
outputs and inputs by

pressurising . The bridge connects inputs X

n+1

lying next to

each other. The corresponding outputs A

n

are sealed with blind plugs.

1. Return the Quickstepper to home position by resetting (step 12).

2. Shorten the plug set

(Fig. 12) to the

number of steps required by the QuickĆ
stepper.

3. Plug the plug set on the plug nipple not

required for the inputs X

n+1

and outputs

A

n

of the Quickstepper.

4. Connect the compressed air connection P

to the lowest input X to be bridged via the
hose connector

1.

5. Close the plug set with the plug

2.

The consecutive can be alternatively pressurĆ
ised using barbed hose connectors V−PK−3
(Fig. 14) and PU hoses PU−3−... (chapter 11).
The unused outputs can then be sealed with
the caps CV−PK−3−B (Fig. 13).

The short−circuiting method by means of pressurising allows you to switch 15 %
faster than short−circuiting by means of looping.

Please note
Prolonged flow of compressed air when short−circuiting by means of pressurisĆ
ing can reduce the service life of the product.
