Installation

Pressure test valve connections before placing apparatus into service.

3.2

CHANGING THE VALVE HANDLE POSITION

The SVS valve handle can be placed in eight (8) different positions. Regardless
of the handle orientation to the valve, the handle must contact the valve stop
when in the CLOSED position. (See Figure 3-2: “Setting Manual Non-Locking /
Locking Handle.”)

1.

Remove the handle hex screw and washer.

2.

Reinstall the handle in the desired position, then remove the valve stop 1/4”
(6mm) nut and the appropriate 1/4”-20 screw.

3.

Reinstall the valve stop on the valve body flange where it lines up with the
handle. Tighten the nut and screw and torque to 20 ft.-lbs. (27 N-m).

4.

Coat the hex screw with Loctite #242 or equivalent and reinstall the screw
and washer to secure the handle. Torque the screw to 10 ft.-lbs. (14 N-m).

5.

OPEN and CLOSE the valve a few times to insure smooth operation.
