Electric Valve Actuator - EH2 / EH4

Limit Switch / Cam Adjustment

Standard electric actuators, shipped separately (without valves), may require
field limit switch / cam adjustment. If done properly, this field adjustment will not
void the warranty. (See Figure 6a-7: “Limit Switch / Cam Adjustment,” on page
41.)

Electric Actuator Option:

Valve does not fully OPEN or
CLOSE.

Motor does not run -
Due to limit switch setting or
defective wire harness.

Constantly tripping integrated
circuit breaker.

Valve is leaking past the ball -
Suspect valve not stopping at
proper CLOSED position.

• If the electric actuator is suspect, remove it and operate the valve. If the valve oper-

ates normally, repair or replace the electric actuator.

• If the electric actuator operates normally when removed from the valve, remove and

dismantle the valve as necessary. See Section 6, heading “6.3 Servicing the Valve,”
on page 27.

• Limit switches set incorrectly or defective. See heading “Limit Switch / Cam Adjust-

ment” on page 40.

• Damaged or broken wire harness - repair and/or replace accordingly.

• Disconnect power to the unit for twenty (20) seconds, then reconnect power.

• Defective or damaged relay inside the motor case. Listen for audible “clink” upon acti-

vation. If not, replace the relay PC Board.

• Valve ball too tight. Inspect the valve ball and valve seals for foreign debris, deteriora-

tion, or damage that could cause interference between the valve ball and the seals or
valve body, hindering proper operation.

• Failure to correct condition will render motor defective.

• Adjust actuator limit switches. See heading “Limit Switch / Cam Adjustment” on page

40.

Valve position indicator lights
malfunctioning or are com-
pletely defective -
Gear or electric actuator
option.

• Consult separate motorized actuator manual, provided separately with the actuator.

See heading “MasterGear Valve Actuators” on page 40. Also see heading “Electric
Valve Actuator - EH2 / EH4” on page 40.
