Adjustment Procedure, Gear Actuators

1.

Remove any caps or plugs relating to the
valve in question.

2.

Press and HOLD the control panel switch to
the CLOSE position until the electric gearbox
motor STOPS moving and the RED light is
illuminated. The valve is now in the fully
CLOSED position. (See Figure 6a-4: “Gear
Actuator Control Panel.”)

3.

Check for leaks through the valve ball.

4.

If leaking is present:

Unplug the STOP switch con-
nector from the wire harness.
(See Figure 6a-5: “Electric
Gear Actuator Adjustment,” on
page 38.)

Loosen the jam nut locking the
position of the switch cap on
the CLOSE position side of
the gearbox.

Back out (unscrew) the switch
cap from the gearbox housing
to gain more rotation for valve
closure. Usually a 1/4 turn at
a time is best.

After each 1/4 turn, always
retighten the jam nut and rein-
stall the STOP switch connec-
tor.

Then activate the control
panel switch to cycle the valve
OPEN and CLOSED and back
to CLOSE again.

Check for leaks. If leaking persists, repeat this procedure until a tight
seal is achieved.
