6A.1 SLOW-CLOSE ACTUATOR

WARNING !

IF YOUR SVS VALVE INCLUDES THE “SLOW-CLOSE” OPTION, DO NOT TAMPER
WITH THE SLOW-CLOSE ACTUATOR. THERE ARE NO SERVICEABLE PARTS
INSIDE.

THE ACTUATOR MUST NEVER BE
DISASSEMBLED AND IS RE-PLACED
AS A SINGLE UNIT - ORDER HALE
P/N: 830-2123-21-0.

The optional controlled motion of
Slow-Close imparts smooth feel to
the valve lever as it is operated.
Slow-Close prevents the valve from
being slammed shut too quickly.
(See Figure 6a-1: “SVS Slow-Close
Actuator Overview.”)

Note: Slow-close is available for
“Locking” valves only.

Installing Slow-Close Option to an Existing Valve

The “slow-close” actuator assembly consists of:

Slow-Close actuator and mounting bracket - complete assembly

Valve stem extension

One 1/4”-20 Allen-Head cap screw, valve stem extension

Four 1/4”-20 hex head screws and hardware.

To Install

1.

With the valve in the CLOSED position, remove the existing valve handle
hex screw and washer - see Section 3, heading 3.2 “Changing the Valve
Handle Position,“ on page 17.)
