Select a routing path.

m Loop Through Off: Sound from sound input equipment attached to the

display is routed to the computer. Use this setting when you’re recording
from an audio CD player (or other equipment) attached to your display and
you don’t want to hear the sound on your display.

m Automatic: Sound from sound input equipment attached to the display (for

example, an audio CD or cassette player) is routed to the AppleVision
1710

AV

speakers and headphones and to the computer.

If Automatic is selected and a voice-quality microphone is attached to the
sound input port on the display, sound is routed to the computer but not to
the display’s speakers and headphones.

A voice-quality microphone is any microphone that has an extended stereo
miniplug connector. See “Connecting External Sound Equipment” in
Chapter 1 for more information.

Adjusting volume

To adjust volume on the AppleVision 1710

AV

Display, make sure the volume

controls in the Sound control panel are set properly. Then, use the
AppleVision Setup control panel to adjust volume for your display.

Checking volume controls on your computer

When the AppleVision 1710

AV

Display is connected to your computer, the

volume controls on the display interact with the volume controls on the
computer. For example, if the main system volume on your computer is set
too low, you will not hear sound on your display’s speakers or headphones.
