Plug the stereo miniplug on the audio cable into the sound input port (marked by

) on

the left side of your AppleVision 1710

AV

Display.

When you record a video with sound, you could connect all the video
equipment to the back of your computer. However, you’re already using the
sound input port on the back of the computer for the sound cable on the
AppleVision 1710

AV

Display. Therefore, you must plug the audio cable from

the video equipment into the sound input port on your display.

Your finished video connections should look like this:

IMPORTANT

In addition to the video connections shown above, the sound cable

on your display should be connected to the sound input and sound output
ports on the back of your computer.

Turn on the computer, the AppleVision 1710

AV

Display, and the VCR.

Recording a video

After the video equipment is connected to your computer and display, you can
record the video.

Open the Sound control panel and make sure the AppleVision 1710

AV

Display is selected

as the sound input source on your computer.

earlier in this chapter.

Close the Sound control panel.
