4.5.2 Installing power cord, accessory cords and connecting cable to the microtome
At the rear of the control unit, set up the following connections:
• Remove the tape from the mains inlet for the power cord (8).
• From the set of power cords delivered (the instrument is delivered with
several, country-specific power cords), select the one that is appropriate
for your lab; connect the power cord.
Do not yet plug the power cord into the mains outlet.
Connect the remaining cables:
• Install the connecting cable (1) leading to the microtome and tighten the
fixing screws.
• Connect the other end of cable (1) to the right side of the microtome and
tighten the fixing screws.
• The connecting cable to the ultramiller (2) needs to be installed only
when working with the Leica SP2600 --> see separate instruction manual
Leica SP2600.
• Connect photo camera (3) (optional).
• Connect remote alarm (4) (optional).
• Connect foot switch (5) (NOT optional).
The foot switch must be connected - otherwise the instrument will
not be operational.
• Connect the vacuum cleaner (6) (optional with Leica SM2500 - necessary
when working with Leica SP2600).
• Connect the lamp (7) (optional).
