Chapter 3 Component Definition and Maintenance
DOSFWDL
The DOSFWDL program copies the .FMW file via a laptop serial port to the
terminal serial port. The program is usually included in the firmware package.
This example uses a firmware file called “FRN_4006.FMW”.
1. Turn off the terminal power. Disconnect the terminal’s serial cable from
Analog Processor Board (ACB) and connect it to the serial port on your
laptop. (You may need a gender changer.)
2. Turn on your laptop and run the dosfwdl.exe program. On your laptop,
you should see the screen similar to one shown below.

3. Enter the firmware filename (e.g., FRN_4006.FMW) as shown in the
screen below and press [Enter].

4. When prompted, enter the laptop’s port address.

IMPORTANT If using newer firmware, ensure the filename is max. 8 characters long.
You can rename the file, but keep the filename extension as.FMW. Also,
when prompted for the filename, ensure you enter the correct filename
as illustrated in the following example.
