4.3 STAND-ALONE CONTROL OF THE QUADTEC UV/VIS DETECTOR

When using the QuadTec detector, note the following:

Direct control of the QuadTec UV/Vis detector is performed via the Main Menu/Operation screen,
e.g. selection of wavelength(s).

Programs can be used for determining and changing wavelengths or setting signal events during
runs. The QuadTec UV/Vis detector features storage and selection between up to 20 different
programs with a maximum number of 100 program lines for each program. Nine different links can
be stored for calling programs within programs.

A useful feature of the QuadTec UV/Vis detector is its ability to scan UV-spectra with a speed of
approximately. 100 nm/s on flow. Scans are handled in the SCAN menu, which is accessed simply
by pressing the SCAN button.

After power on, the instrument starts automatically with the last used program. If no programs had been
loaded, the standard program is defined to be No. 01.
