Playback

You can use the viewfinder screen for instant, on-

the-spot playback.
To play back your recordings on a TV, see pp. 16-

18 for the connection procedure.

1. Attach a power source and press the

OPERATE button to turn the camera on.

• The OPERATE indicator lights up.

2. Load the cassette.

3. Press the ■ STOP button to select

playback mode.

• “STOP” appears in the viewfinder.
• None of the playback functions will work if you

do not first select playback mode.

4. Press the

PLAY button to start

playback.

• To end playback, press the ■ STOP button.
• To wind the tape forwards, stop playback and

press the ◄◄ FF button.

• To wind the tape backwards, stop playback

and press the ►► REW button.

The camera also has the following special playback

methods:

Fast forward playback

To see the playback picture at about 9 times
normal speed, press and hold the ◄◄ FF button
during normal playback. Release the button to

resume normal playback.

Rewind playback

To see the picture in reverse at about 7 times

normal speed, press and hold the ►► REW button
during normal playback. Release the button to
resume normal playback.

High-speed search

To see the recording played back at about 15 times

normal speed, press and hold the ◄◄ FF button
during normal fast forward mode. Release the
button to return to normal fast forward.

To see playback in reverse at about 15 times

normal speed, press and hold the ►► REW button

during normal rewind mode. Release the button to

return to normal rewind.

still playback

To pause the playback picture, press the

PAUSE II button on the wireless controller. Press
it again (or press the PLAY ► button) to resume
normal playback.

• You can also use the camera’s start/stop button.

Notes:

• The above tape speeds apply to recordings made

in SP mode.

• During still playback, the picture flickers and fast

action scenes may appear blurred.

• The camera automatically goes into stop mode

after about seven minutes of still playback.

• The audio portion of the tape cannot be heard

during special playback.

• On certain TVs the picture may roll and divide, or

appear in black and white.

• The high-speed search picture might not appear

on some TVs.

• Noise bars appear on the screen during special

playback.
