Extended PXL Global Unlock/Lock

This document details how to enable the standard implementation of Global Unlock-
/Lock in Doors.NET for PXL controllers. The PXL-500/SB-593 master controller has ded-
icated Global Unlock and Global Lock features built into the controller using dedicated
inputs.

To use this feature, all PXL controllers must have firmware v8.06.09 or greater.

Global Lock requires an SB-593 Satellite Board be installed on the master controller.

When the corresponding input is activated, these features automatically either lock or
unlock ALL of the online and functioning doors in the PXL system; it does not allow
selected doors to be excluded from the lock or unlock command. Since these features
are hardware controlled they are not dependent upon the PC to be activated.

The Global Unlock/Lock functionality of PXL hardware can be extended using the

Situ-

ation Manager

within Doors.NET software. This provides you with greater control and

flexibility in how the Global Unlock/Lock features are implemented.

NOTE: If a slave controller is offline when a Global Unlock or Global Lock command is
issued, the slave controller has missed the unlock/lock command and will not change
state when the slave controller comes back on line.

Enable Global Unlock

The global unlock feature uses a dedicated input on the PXL master controller. When
the global unlock input is triggered all online and functioning doors on the PXL network
are automatically unlocked.

1. Highlight the master PXL controller in the hardware tree (Setup > Hardware Setup

> All).
