Password

Transmitting

A password is a four-digit code used in the secure mode. The
machine uses the password when it transmits or receives a
document using the secure mode.

When the secure mode is selected, the machine compares the

password with the password of the remote machine. If the
passwords match, the machine proceeds with the transaction.
If the passwords do not match, the machine cancels the

operation and generates an error code.

NOTE: You can not combine the * or if symbols with other digits

in a password. If you enter **** as the password, the system

automatically matches the password of the remote machine.

Use the following procedure to program a password:

Open the access panel.

Press the PROGRAM key and close the access panel.

Press the REDIAL/key twice to display PASSWORD.

Press the START key. The LCD prompts you to enter the
password.

Enter the four-digit password. When you enter the first
character, the LCD clears the previous password. The
cursor moves automatically to the next position. The LCD
prompts you to verify the password you entered:

PRESS <>

PASSW0RD=1234

NOTE: Press the CLEAR key to back over digits you

enter. If you do not enter any digits, the machine does

not respond to this key.

Verify the password you entered. To change the

password, press the CLEAR key then reenter the four-digit
number.

Press the START key.
