Reading Results
ERR Indicator
The ERR Indicator tab allows you to view the errors encountered at the
different layers related to the IPTV service.
The available test results are the
following:

DSL CRC errors/ADSL Errs
displays a count of frames lost at
the DSL layer.
³
FEC frame counters/FEC Cnt
displays the number of forward
error correction (FEC) frames that
have been rectified by the
Reed-Solomon error correction. When in the “fast” setting, the result
will be 0. This parameter is useful for determining if a problem exists
based on how many frames required correction.

PTM CRCError/PTM Errs and ATM HECError/ATM Errs display a
count of frames lost at the transfer mode layer.
³
IP Packet/Pck Loss is the number of packets lost, with errors, or out of
sequence, during the test period.
³
Loss Ratio is the percentage of IP packet loss during a one second
period.
³
Reset Statistics button sets all monitoring values to 0.
