Warp (NewsEdit XT only)
You use a Warp effect to transform a video image in a nonlinear fashion. A
linear transformation is a two dimensional image attached to a flat plane that
moves in a three dimensional space; therefore, a nonlinear transformation
bends or curves the plane that image is on. It can also slice the plane into small
segments and move those segments individually in different directions or at
different rates.
Option
Range
Description
Amplitude
-64 to +64
Sets the gain for the selected shape; affects the sharpness of the
warp edge.
Aspect
-1.00 to +1.00
Changes the ratio of the image’s width to its height, making it taller
or wider than the original image; used with circular warp effects, it
stretches the image into an oval shape.
Axis Angle
-180 to +180
Sets the direction the effect moves across the screen.
Curl Angle
-180 to +180
Sets the position from which the curl starts.
Curve
0 to 2
Used with circular warp effects, sets the amount of “roll” on the
curved shape.
Edge Softness
0 to 100
Sets the amount of softness applied to the underneath edge of a warp
effect edge.
Frequency
0 to 25
Changes the wavelength of the warp effect; it affects how many
repetitions of the warp effect appear in the image.
Offset
-8.20 to +8.20
Sets the position of the warp effect on the background video.
Radius
0 to 100
Sets the distance from the center to the outer edge of circular warp
shapes.
Skew
-1.0 to +1.0
Slants the image in the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) directions.
Skew Amplitude
-4 to +4
Sets the gain for the slanted image.
Skew Angle
-180 to +180
Sets the angle for the slanted image.
Split Softness
0 to 100
Sets the amount of softness of the full-frame edge of a warp effect.
Transparency
0 to 100
Sets how much of the background image you can see through the
effect.
X-Position
-12 to +12
Moves the image left or right.
