Importing Files from a Media Server

If you use a media server, such as a Profile, K2, or M-Series iVDR, as part of
your news production system, you can obtain media files from ContentShare
Explorer, MediaFrame Explorer, or the Transfer utility.

To import files from a media server:

1. Verify that NewsEdit is configured to work with a media server.

See the NewsroomSuite Installation and Configuration Guide for
instructions on connecting a NewsEdit workstation to a media server.

2. Open the ContentShare Explorer, MediaFrame Explorer, or Transfer

application.

3. Place the new window over the top of the NewsEdit application.

4. Select the clip you want in ContentShare Explorer or MediaFrame Explorer.

5. Drag the clip into the desired NewsEdit bin.

The clip appears in your Bin as a master clip, ready for you to use in a
sequence.

Importing Files

NewsEdit can import various formats of clips, DiskCam files, EDL files, video
effects, graphic files, and media.

To import a file, choose your import type from the
