Preparing the Profile System

Before you can install, test, and operate the Fibre Channel upgrade, Profile System
Software version 2.1 or higher must be installed and tested for operability, and the
tasks listed below. In addition to these tasks, make sure that your video data is
backed up.

• Enable the network

• System shutdown.

• Power off.

• Power cord and External cables disconnect.

• Profile system removal from the rack.

• Covers removal.

• Board brackets removal.

• Removing the old Master Disk Recorder board and, if installed, the old Slave

Disk Recorder board.

A board location guide and audio clock cabling information is included to assist
you if you must move boards around in order to install the Fibre Channel upgrade.

Enable the Network

Network services must be running regardless of whether or not you currently have
a LAN board installed. To enable the network, from a Command Prompt, type in:

netenabl

and then press

System Shutdown

To shut your Profile system down without loss of data, you will need to:

• Shut down the Profile Application software.

• Close any other processes which may be running.

• Close Windows NT.

• Switch power off.
