Removing Internal Cables

The internal cables you remove depends on whether you have 2-channel or a
4-channel PDR 100 (see Figure 10).

For a 2-channel PDR100:

• Remove the SCSI A Cable connector

Ê

from the Master Disk Recorder

board.

For a 4-channel PDR100:

• Remove the SCSI A cable connector

Ê

from the Master Disk Recorder

board.

• Remove the SCSI B cable connector

Ë

from the Slave Disk Recorder board.

• Remove the short ribbon cable

Ì

connected between the Master Disk

Recorder board and the Slave Disk Recorder board.

It may be necessary to move boards around to accommodate the slot requirements
for the Fibre Channel board and the new EDR boards. If moving boards around
requires removal of any internal cables, Grass Valley Group recommends making
a diagram of the internal cable connections prior to moving any boards to make it
easier to reconnect internal cables. Refer to the “Board Location Guide” on
page 38 a
nd “Audio Clock Cabling” on page 48 for additional information.
