Fan Tray
The three main fans for interior air circulation and the Fan board mount on the
removable Fan Tray. This tray mounts across the chassis between the Media Hard
Disks and the board area. Fan tray removal and replacement does not require removal
of the chassis from the rack or removal of the rear cover.
Removal and replacement of the parts listed below require removal of the fan tray.
• Fans (internal)
• Fan board
• Disk drive tray
• Floppy disk drive
• Distribution board for the floppy disk drive and system drive
To remove the fan tray:
1. Turn PDR200 power Off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Loosen the chassis rack retaining thumb screw (Figure 6-3, page 6-6) and, taking care
to not stress rear panel cables, slide the chassis out of the rack far enough to access
the front cover mounting screws.
3. Use the Torx tool with the T10 tip to remove the front cover mounting screws and set
the cover aside (Figure 6-5, page 6-8).
4. Use the Torx tool with the T15 tip to remove the four screws (two on each side) which
secure the fan tray to the chassis (1 in Figure 6-11).
5. Disconnect all cables to the Fan board (1 and 2 in Figure 6-11).
6. Being careful to move cabling out of the way, lift the fan tray up and out of the chassis.
