RS-422 Board Tests (Slot J17)
Unlike other diagnostic tests, the RS-422 board tests use an MS-DOS-based program
that does not use the i960 or an executable file for the i960.
To start the tests, select RS422, if installed . An MS-DOS window appears with
instructions for making loopback connections and for setting switches on the breakout
box. See Figure 4-13. If you wish to continue the test, type
Y (upper or lower case)
and then press Enter : to cancel the test, type N and then press Enter .

When the tests are complete, the program asks you to press Enter to quit. Pass/fail
information is returned for logging, the date and time are appended to the test results,
and the results are logged.
Empty Slots
If you inadvertently select a blank board slot, the message shown in Figure 4-14
appears.
