Using Touchtone Commands
Placing Calls
To place a call with touchtone dialing
1. Dial the Speech Server extension number.
2. After the Attendant answers, dial the number. The Attendant places the call.
Switching to Touchtone
Sometimes, when you are in a noisy environment, you may want to use the phone pad (DTMF
dialing) to provide your messaging commands instead of using voice commands.
To give messaging commands with touchtone dialing
• Press *M (*6) to access "Messenger" while you are in the Attendant mode.
• Press *T (*8) to switch to Touchtone Mode if you are in the "Messenger" mode.
The Unified Messaging system uses the following phone keys for DTMF commands:
Press this Phone Key To
P ( key 7) Play a message
D (key 3) Delete a message
K (key 5) Keep the message. Marks the message as "read" and moves to the
next message
A (key 2) Answer a message
G (key 4) Give (forward) a message
M (key 6) Make a new message
# Skip to the next message, leaving the message as "read"/"unread"
* Go to the previous message
1 Listen to your "read" messages
U (key 8) Change your user options (PIN, greetings, name recording)
0 Transfer to the Operator
X (key 9) Exit to the main menu (Desktop)
