Removing the printer from the Tray 2 base

If you need to move the printer to a different location, be sure you first remove the printer from the Tray 2 base. This
helps to avoid damaging the printer and the base.

To safely move the printer and the optional Tray 2, follow these precautions:

Keep the printer in an upright position.

Avoid severe jarring movements that may cause damage to the printer and the tray.

Turn the printer off, and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.

Disconnect all cables from the back of the printer.

Remove any paper from Tray 1 and the paper exit tray.

Grasp the printer on both sides using the handholds.

Lift the printer off of the Tray 2 base, and set the printer aside.

Cleaning the scanner glass

Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with water.

Gently wipe the scanner glass clean.

Note: Make sure all ink or corrective fluid on a document is dry before placing the document on the scanner glass.

Cleaning the exterior of the printer

Make sure that the printer is turned off and unplugged from the wall outlet.

CAUTION—SHOCK HAZARD: To avoid the risk of electric shock, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet
and disconnect all cables to the printer before proceeding.

Remove paper from the paper tray or trays.

Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with water.

Warning—Potential Damage: Do not use household cleaners or detergents, as they may damage the finish of
the printer.
