4. Firmware Update: use this option to download and install switch firmware updates. See Section 4.2.3,
“Updating SW04/08 Switch Firmware,” for additional information.
4.2.2.5 Application
There is currently only one available option.
Client Port Setting: use this option to enable LUN Masking and configure LUN mappings to clients. See
Section 4.2.4, “The ExaSAN LUN Masking Function,” and Chapter 8 for additional information.
4.2.3 Updating SW04/08 Switch Firmware
Follow the steps in this section to update the firmware of your SW04/08 switch. Take caution to prevent
loss of power source to the switch during this process.
4.2.3.1 Preparing the Firmware Update File
1. Visit the website below:
http://www.accusys.com.tw/support/download_new.htm
2. Once you are there, ignore the “Accusys partners only” login fields on the left, go straight to the
“Download” pane in the middle of the page.
3. Under the “Download” link, locate and expand the folder named “SW04/08.”
4. Continue to locate and expand “System Code” (or “Firmware”) under “SW04/08” until you see a
“sw04_08_sys_vx.xx.xx.zip” file.
5. Download and save this file to an identifiable location on your local workstation, it is the latest
firmware update file for SW04/08.
6. Locate the downloaded firmware update file on your local workstation; unzip it, again noting the file
path to the destination folder of the unzipped files.
7. Locate the unzipped firmware update files on your local workstation, confirm that the two following
files have been successfully prepared:
a. sw04_sys_vx.xx.xx.bin, this is the firmware update file for the SW04 switch only.
b. sw08_sys_vx.xx.xx.bin, this is the firmware update file for the SW08 switch only.
