Follow the file path of /Download/ExaSAN/SW-04_08/installer package to locate and download the

“installer package.” It includes the RAIDGuard X utility and the ExaSAN driver. The ExaSAN driver

should have been installed on your host computers during your initial system setup. You may ignore

it and install the RAIDGuard X utility only.

For more detailed explanations of RAIDGuard X, please refer to the RAIDGuard X user manual that

came with your RAID system(s). Alternatively, you may also download it from the link below:

8. Q: I cannot see my RAID system using RAIDGuard X’s “Add Controller” function, what should I

do?

A: The RAIDGuard X utility communicates with your S-04/08 switch via the Ethernet network; the

SW-04/08 switch communicates with your RAID system via the PCIe connection. You would not be

able to see all the way from RAIDGuard X to your RAID system, if there is a connection problem

somewhere along the way.

Please verify that your SW-04/08 switch is properly connected to the Ethernet network. Also verify

that you can “ping” the switch (at IP address 192.168.0.1 unless you changed it), from the host system

where RAIDGuard X is installed. If both checks out, the “Add Controller” function should be able to

automatically locate the RAID system via your SW-04/08 switch.

On the off chance that everything seems to be all right, and yet the “Add Controller” function fails to

locate your RAID system automatically; you may use the “Manual Add Controller” function instead.

In that case, you will be entering the switch’s IP address manually, followed by the addition of your

RAID system, also manually. For more detailed explanations of this process, please refer to the

appropriate RAIDGuard X user manual.

9. Q: Why is it that my SW04/08 does not detect the RAID storage system?

A: Please refer to Section 1.4.1.2, “Switch SW04 Rear Panel,” locate and read description of items 5

(Storage Module Ports) and 6 (Storage Module LED Indicators). Verify that the cable on the Storage

Module Port is securely plugged in on both ends. Verify that the Storage Module LED Indicators are

reflecting a working condition. Verify that the Disk LED indicators on the front panel of the storage

system are in green color.

10. Q: How do I reset switch IP and Password if I forgot them?
