8. Proceed to the next section to install the firmware update file.
4.2.3.2 Installing the Firmware Update File
1. Launch the switch GUI and log in as your system administrator, see Section 4.2.1, “Accessing the
Switch GUI,” for additional information.
2. Once you are logged in, you are in the default “Config Mode.”
3. Select “System Management” from the menu in the left pane.
4. Select “Firmware Update” from the sub-menu in the left pane, below is the screen you will see.
5. Confirm that the “F/W Type” option is checked.
6. Click the “Choose File” button and specify the file path to the firmware update files which we
prepared in the previous section.
7. Select the correct firmware update file (sw04 or sw08) that matches your switch model.
8. Click “Apply” to begin the firmware update process, please wait for the process to complete
9. Upon completion, you will be prompted to restart the switch.
10. Follow the instructions in Section 3.2.2, “Powering Off,” to power off your MDC, all clients and the
switch.
11. Follow the instructions in Section 3.2.1, “Powering On,” to power on your switch, MDC and all
clients.
12. At this point, you are done and the switch firmware updates are in effect.
