You should perform this check on all computers in the ExaSAN network. If the LUNs do not properly
show in System Profiler, you should troubleshoot the adaptor and driver installation, cable connects to the
ExaSAN switch, and the ExaSAN RAID. Also refer to Section 3.3, “ExaSAN Setup,” to verify that
proper setup procedure was followed.
6.6.4 Install Xsan Software on Xsan Metadata Controllers and All Clients
For all computers on the ExaSAN which are intended to be either metadata controllers or clients, you will
need to install the Xsan software first. To install the Xsan software:
1. Run the Xsan Install Disc on each client computer connected to the ExaSAN and install the Xsan
software.
2. Install the Xsan software on the server computer that will be the standby metadata controller.
3. Install the Xsan software on the server computer that will be the primary metadata controller.
