AVLS

If set to “ON,” the maximum audio playback volume is

limited to protect your hearing. The default setting is “OFF.”

AVLS stands for the Automatic Volume Limiter System.

Text Input Assist

( below)

If set to “ON,” word predictions are displayed in the bottom

of the text entry screen as you enter characters with the

keyboard ( page 16). The default setting is “OFF.”

Reset Settings

Restores the unit to its original factory settings. This will

delete all personal information such as IDs from your Instant

Messaging application. But it does not delete the files stored

in the unit, such as music, video files, Bookmarks, and text

files. In order to delete these, format the storage ( below).

Format Storage

Reinitializes the internal memory. When the internal memory

is initialized, all data stored in the unit is erased. Be sure to

save the necessary data to the computer prior to initializing.

To use Text Input Assist

Enter characters using the keyboard.

Predictions of the word you are entering appear at the bottom of the display.

Press

/ on the keyboard to select a word, and then press the

Enter key on the keyboard.
The selected word appears on the editing display.

Auto Connect

If set to “ON” (default setting), the unit automatically

attempts to connect to the pre-registered wireless network in

the pre-arranged order ( page 28). If set to “OFF,” the

available wireless networks are listed in the Connection

Dialog when the unit turns on the wireless LAN in

infrastructure mode, allowing you to select the wireless

network manually each time.

Connection Info Displays the current wireless LAN connection information.
