Web

Symptom

Cause or corrective action

A particular Web

page is not displayed

correctly.

Because the range of standards and technologies used

to design Web pages is so vast, it is not possible to

guarantee that all pages will be displayed correctly.

Music

Symptom

Cause or corrective action

Music cannot be

played.

 Tracks with an expiration date or a limited number

of playing times may not be playable on the unit.

The unit does not

recognize music data.

 Check that the music data is saved in the correct

folder ( page 139).

 Music data in the “MUSIC” folder cannot be deleted

by using the unit. Use the Windows Media Player 10

or Windows Explorer on your computer to delete or

edit music data ( page 138).

The unit produces no

sound or produces

only noise.

 The volume level is set to zero. Turn up the volume

( page 141).

 The headset plug is not connected properly. Insert it

firmly into the  (headset) jack ( page 141).

 The headset plug is dirty. Clean the headset plug

with a soft, dry cloth.

 No audio files are stored on the unit.

Audio files

transferred with

SonicStage do not

display cover art.

 Before transferring the audio files from SonicStage,

attach the cover art to the audio tracks in their

property settings windows in SonicStage.

WMA file will not

play.

 Audio files protected by Windows Media Player 9

copyright protection cannot be played on the unit,

even if they can be transferred to it.

The volume cannot

be turned up.

 “AVLS” is set to “ON.” Set it to “OFF” ( page

174).

Audio playback stops

unexpectedly.

 The remaining battery power is insufficient to

operate the unit. Charge the battery ( page 19).

 If the unit encounters an audio file that is

incompatible with the unit, playback stops ( page

141). Select another track.

” is displayed as

part of a title.

 The title contains characters that the unit cannot

display. Use a software program on your computer

to rename the title with appropriate characters.
