Formatting (initializing) a Memory Stick

Insert a Memory Stick into your camcorder.
(2)
Set the POWER switch to MEMORY. Make sure that the lock is set to the left
(unlock) position.
(3)
Press MENU to make the MENU display appear.
(4)
Turn the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial to select O, then press the dial.
(5)
Turn the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial to select FORMAT, then press the dial.
(6)
Turn the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial again to select OK, then press the dial. The
display shows "EXECUTE."
(7)
Press the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial. The display shows "FORMATTING," and
formatting procedure begins. When formatting is finished, the display shows
"COMPLETE."

Notes
• Formatting erases all information on the Memory Stick, including the protected image
data. Check the contents of the Memory Stick before formatting.
• Do not turn the POWER switch or press any button while the display shows
"FORMATTING".
• You cannot format the Memory Stick if the write-protect tab on the Memory Stick is
set to LOCK.
