Bridging allows a host, connected on the MatchPort’s wired Ethernet interface, to be
accessible over the wireless network (via the MatchPort).

To initialize the bridging feature:

1. Configure the MatchPort’s wireless settings. See

WLAN Settings

on page 59.

2. Enable bridging in Setup Mode. See

Network Mode

on page 42.

3. Set up the wired host connected to the MatchPort’s Ethernet port.

Once in bridging mode, the services on the MatchPort are available only through
the wired interface.

To configure the MatchPort using the wired Ethernet interface when in bridging
mode:

1. If a device is connected to the MatchPort's Ethernet port, disconnect it and

connect a PC for configuring the MatchPort.

2. Use a utility such as DeviceInstaller to locate the MatchPort’s MAC address and

IP address. This utility must use the Lantronix access protocol to query the
MatchPort. (See

3: Using DeviceInstaller

.)

3. Set up the PC's Ethernet port for AutoIP or assign a static IP address in the same

range as the MatchPort.

4. Use the MatchPort’s Web-Manager (see

4: Configuration Using Web-Manager

)

or Telnet to port 9999 to configure the MatchPort.

Note:

Telneting to the MatchPort accesses Setup Mode. The procedure

for using Setup Mode from the Ethernet port is the same as for using the
setup port.

5. Disconnect the PC and reconnect the original device to the MatchPort's Ethernet

port.
