Troubleshooting

Problems and probable cause

The following table describes the probable causes to some problems you may encounter. Most

problems can be resolved by using the information provided in the table.

Problem

Probable Causes

Printer does not print (serial

RS232 )

* Cable connection problem or invalid pin connections.

* Baud rate and format on serial port 1 does not match printer.

* Printer is not ready or it is busy.

* Transmitter/receiver IC damaged (U3 RS232).

Continuous output does not

update

* “TX CONTINUOUS” disabled (configuration Parameter 27 to

0)

* Cable connection problem or invalid pin connections.

* Baud rate and format on serial port 2 does not match receiver.

* Transmitter/receiver IC damaged (U3 RS232).

Input port 1 not working

* Baud rate and format on serial port 1 does not match host.

*Cable connection problem or invalid pin connections.

*RS232 transmitter/receiver IC damaged (U3 RS232).

Input port 2 not working

* Baud rate and format on serial port 2 does not match host.

* Cable connection problem or invalid pin connections.

* Internal jumper JP3 (RS232/422/485/CL) not set properly.

* RS232 transmitter/receiver IC damaged (U3 RS232).

* RS422/485 transmitter/receiver IC damaged (RS422{U11

75176} RS485{U7 75176}).

“Er CtS” error message.

* Cable connection problem. * Printer is not ready or it is busy.

* Transmitter/receiver IC damaged (U3 RS232).

Invalid weight display or

weight fluctuating

* Invalid calibration parameters.* Load cell or load cell input
