System 2500 Operating & Installation Manual - Revision 07

2-27

If a stored setup is no longer needed it may be removed from the System 2500 PLS backup
memory. If the operator desires to remove a stored setup, he must select REMOVE from the
Store/Recall Menu. The options for choosing the setup name to remove from memory are the
same as those for recalling a setup from memory (see Section 2.7.2). The operator can remove a
setup by entering the setup name, or by viewing a listing of the current setups and choosing one.

After the setup name to be removed has been entered or chosen the ENTER key must be pressed.
The System 2500 will then display the setup name again and instruct the operator to press the
REMOVE key. This allows the operator to double check the setup name to be sure that it is the
correct setup to be removed. Once the REMOVE key is pressed, the setup is gone from backup
memory and its name will no longer be displayed for recall. Another setup can then be stored in
its place. Note that the current setup is not affected in any way by the REMOVE operation.

2.8 DIE-PROT (Die Protection)

The System 2500 die protection function allows the operator to monitor various die conditions
that are important to the correct operation of the die. This is done by installing appropriate
sensors and probes in or near the die and connecting these sensors to inputs on the System 2500.
The inputs are then programmed through the Operator Interface Terminal to perform the desired
monitoring function. There are eight die protection inputs, numbered 25 through 32, located on
the 20-connection terminal block on the side of the Logic Unit (see Wiring, Section 4.2).

To access the die protection system for programming, select the DIE-PROT option from the
Main Menu and press the ENTER key. The DIE-PROT MENU will then be displayed giving the
operator the following choices:

C

DIE-PRO INPUTS - Edit the die protection setup or monitor changes on the die
protection inputs.

C

DIE-PRO ON/OFF - Turn ON or OFF the die protection system, i.e., enable or
disable monitoring of the inputs.

C

TIMING CHANLS - Program the on/off setpoints for die protection timing
channels.

If the Automatic Single Stroke option was ordered for this unit, the menu will also display:

C

AUTO SS - Enable the Automatic Single Stroke function and set the timing for
proper operation.
