the 'ON' position.

3.

There can be no E-Stop condition present, and the Top Stop button cannot be
depressed.

4.

The Auto Single Stroke Setup button must be pressed and released.

Once the setup button has been pressed, the operator must manually make the first stroke to
begin Automatic Single Stroke operation. This must be done within the time limit programmed
for First Stroke Time (see Section 2.8.4.6 below). During the first (manual) stroke the automatic
function will be latched in. At the end of this stroke (and every successive stroke as well) the
machine must come to a stop with the crankshaft between 340 degrees and 20 degrees or an error
will be generated. Once the machine has stopped, the system will wait for the programmed
minimum delay time to expire (see Section 2.8.4.5). When the minimum delay has expired, if all
die protection inputs are satisfied the System 2500 will automatically initiate another stroke.
With each successive stroke, when the machine comes to a stop the system will wait through the
programmed minimum delay and then will initiate another stroke automatically if die protection
is satisfied. If for any reason a die protection input is NOT satisfied at the end of the minimum
delay (i.e., feed not in place), the system will continue to wait for that input to be satisfied until

the programmed maximum delay expires (see Section 2.8.4.7). If the die protection is still not
satisfied when the maximum delay expires an error will occur and a message will be generated
indicating which die protection input caused the timeout fault. The operator can then take
corrective action.

The Automatic Single Stroke function will be unlatched if any of the following conditions occur:

C

An E-Stop is generated for any reason.

C

A Top Stop is generated.

C

A fault, Die Protection or otherwise, is detected by the System 2500.

C

The machine comes to a stop outside the 340 degree to 20 degree range around
top dead center.

C

The Auto Single Stroke ON/OFF hardware switch on the panel is turned to 'OFF'.

C

The Mode Selector Switch is turned to a mode other than Single Stroke.

If any of these conditions occur it will be necessary first to correct the E-Stop condition or other
reason for the stop and then restart Automatic Single Stroke as described above by making the
first stroke manually.
