external control logic. These connections to the System 2500 should be wired according to the
drawings provided by Link Systems to insure proper operation.

2.8.4.1 Auto SS Programming Requirements

The System 2500 has several requirements for internal programming by the operator before
correct operation of Auto Single Stroke can be achieved. First are the data values directly related
to Auto Single Stroke which are listed as follows:

1.

The Auto Single Stroke function must be turned ON internally in the System
2500. This activates several safety checks within the unit. (See Section 2.8.4.4
below).

2.

A Minimum Delay Time must be programmed to provide a fixed 'pause' after each
stroke before initiating a new stroke. (See Section 2.8.4.5 below).

3.

The First Stroke Time must be programmed to force a time limit for making the
first stroke after the setup button has been pressed. (See Section 2.8.4.6 below).

4.

A Maximum Delay Time must be programmed to restrict the length of time
between strokes that the system will wait for the die protection inputs to be OK
before generating an error. (See Section 2.8.4.7 below).

These parameters are programmed through the Auto SS menu (see Section 2.8.4.3).

Additionally, use of the Auto Single Stroke function requires that die protection be turned ON
(not bypassed) and that at least one die protection input be programmed to a mode other than
static. By doing this, at least one die protection input is forced to cycle open to closed with each
stroke. This provides some verification that the proper die protection setup for the current
operation is being used. An error message will be generated if the AUTO SS ENABLE input is
activated (i.e., if the setup button is pressed) while die protection is bypassed. Additionally, an
error message will appear if Auto Single Stroke is turned ON internally (see Section 2.8.4.4
below) without a die protection input being programmed to a mode other than static mode.

2.8.4.2 Auto SS Hardware Setup

Once the internal System 2500 software data has been programmed, Auto Single Stroke can be
used. The control components (specified by Link) must be set up as follows for automatic single
stroke:

1.

The Mode Selector Switch for the control must be in the Single Stroke position.

2.

The Auto Single Stroke On/Off hardware switch on the panel must be turned to
