2.8.4.3 Auto SS Status Screen and Menu

When AUTO SS is chosen from the Die-Prot Menu, a screen will appear indicating Auto Single
Stroke status on the left half of the screen, and providing access code input information on the
right half of the screen. There are two lines of status information on the left. The top line is
labeled 'AUTO SS' followed by an indication of 'OFF' or 'ON'. This indicates whether or not the
Auto Single Stroke capability has been internally enabled. Auto Single Stroke MUST be turned
on internally (as described in Section 2.8.4.4 below) for this function to operate at all. The
bottom line of the status information is labeled 'ENABLE' followed by an indication of 'HIGH' or

'LOW'. This indicates the status of the 'AUTO SS ENABLE' input on the unit (terminal 33).
When the label indicates 'HIGH', the input is NOT active; when the label indicates 'LOW', the
input is active and Auto Single Stroke operation can be initiated. The hardware input is wired so
that several conditions must be satisfied to make it active (i.e., 'LOW'). These conditions are
those listed for setup of Auto Single Stroke in Section 2.8.4.2 above. When these input
conditions have all been satisfied, the ENABLE line of status information will read 'LOW'.

Access to the Auto Single Stroke programmed data is protected so that it cannot be easily altered.
The right side of this screen provides a place to enter the access code for programming the Auto
Single Stroke data. This can only be done when the System 2500 keyswitch is in the
PROGRAM position; otherwise, a message will appear on the right side of the screen advising
the operator to switch to PROG mode. With the keyswitch properly set, the operator must enter
the System 2500 access code in order to obtain a display of the Auto SS Menu. The access code
is printed on the last page of this manual.

When the Auto SS Menu is displayed, four options will be available to the operator:

C

AUTO SS ON/OFF - Allows the operator to turn the Automatic Single Stroke
capability ON or OFF.

C

MIN DELAY TIME - Allows the operator to enter the amount of delay time after
the press stops before a new stroke is initiated.

C

1ST STROKE TIME - Allows the operator to enter the amount of time allowed
after the Auto SS Setup button is pressed before the first stroke must be initiated
manually.

C

MAX DELAY TIME - Allows the operator to enter the maximum amount of time
to wait after the press stops before all die protection inputs must be satisfied so
that a new stroke may begin.

Any of these choices may be selected by using the arrow keys to move the cursor to the desired
option and pressing ENTER.
