MLC 52 Series MediaLink Controllers • Operation

Using the MLC 52 VC Models with the MPA Series Power
Amplifiers

The dedicated volume control knob on the MLC 52 IR VC or the MLC 52 RS VC
controls the audio output of an Extron MPA 122 or MPA 181T power amplifier, to
which speakers for the system are connected.

The following diagram shows an example of a system that uses an MLC 52 VC
model with an MPA amplifier.

Requirements for the MLC 52 VC with volume control knob

To set up and operate a system that contains an MLC 52 VC model, which has a
volume control knob on the faceplate, and an Extron power amplifier, you must
ensure that the following conditions are met:

The projector must have dedicated video and audio inputs for each source
used in the system.

The projector must have a switched audio output. On most projectors, this
connector is labeled as “Monitor Output” or “Audio Output,” as shown in the
following illustration. With a switched audio output, the projector outputs
the audio from the selected video source.

The system must incorporate an Extron MPA series power amplifier.
