Troubleshooting

Symptom
A beep sounds twice, and the
display does not change even if you
press a key.
You cannot operate your
components.
Remedy
• The settings are locked and cannot be edited.
Release the lock (page 223).
• Move closer to the component. The maximum
operating distance is approximately 10 meters
(32.8 feet).
• Check that you are aiming the Remote
Commander directly at the component, and
that there are no obstructions between the
Remote Commander and the remote control
detector of the component.
• Turn on the component first, if necessary.
• Check that you have selected the correct
Component key, and that the preset code
programmed for the Component key is correct.
• Check the remote control functions for the keys
and buttons. With this Remote Commander,
various remote control functions can be
assigned to keys and buttons by the learning
function. It may be that the function you set is
different from the name (label) of the key or
button you are trying to operate, or, that the
function keys of different components are set
for one Component key.
• You might have changed the reference key for
an Alias key or button. The function of the
Alias key or button will be changed if the
reference key for the key or button is changed.
• Check that the component has infrared remote
capability. For example, if your component is
not supplied with a remote control, it probably
is not capable of being controlled by a remote
control.
