Troubleshooting

Continued

Trouble with a “Memory Stick”

Symptom

A “Memory Stick” cannot be
inserted.
Even if you insert a “Memory
Stick”, a beep sounds twice and the
“Memory Stick” cannot be detected.

The detection message is not
shown, or an error occurs when
inserting a “Memory Stick.”

Remedy

• The inserting direction is incorrect. Insert the

“Memory Stick” in the correct direction.

• You may have locked the operation mode.

While pressing the [EXIT] button, press and
hold the [VOL–] button, and while pressing
these two buttons, press the [CH–] button
(page 38). The operation lock will be released.

• The settings are locked and cannot be edited.

Release the lock (page 223).

• The Remote Commander may be in the

application mode, or detecting USB. While the
Remote Commander is in the application
mode, or detecting USB, a “Memory Stick”
cannot be detected. Check the status of the
Remote Commander.

• The “Memory Stick” is not detected properly.

Remove the “Memory Stick”, then reinsert it.

• If the terminal of a “Memory Stick” is dirty,

reading/writing of data may not be possible.
Clean the terminal of the “Memory Stick” with
a cotton swab.

• You may not be able to use a “Memory Stick”

which was formatted using a device other than
the Remote Commander. Format the “Memory
Stick” using the Remote Commander.

• When the batteries in the Remote Commander

are exhausted, data you have saved in the
“Memory Stick” may not be shown. In this
case, charge the Remote Commander.
