5.1. General Guide

If the printer does not print

If nothing is displayed on the message display on the front control panel, then you probably have a
power problem. See Section 5.2.

If the printing is abnormal

With the printer on-line and ready, press the STATUS key to print a status page. You can also
optimize print quality using the KIR test pattern printed at the bottom of the status page. To adjust
the print status, see Chapter 2.

If the result is normal, you may have an interface problem. See Section 5.3.

If the result is not normal, you have a print quality problem. See Section 5.4.

If a maintenance message is displayed on the message display:

If the printer does not print the entire page or indicates

Memory overflow

on its message

display, try adding optional memory. To add optional memory, see Chapter 1.
