Chapter 5 Troubleshooting
Dirt on the top edge or back of the paper
Check the paper chute and the ramp.
Draw out the paper feed unit and check for toner on the paper ramp. Clean the paper ramp (see
Section 4.2.) using the wiper supplied, or a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
Check the transfer roller.
If the transfer roller is dirty with toner, try printing several pages. Call for the assistance of a service
person.
Characters out of position
Check the file or program.
See if the problem is caused by incorrect PRESCRIBE IIe commands. If the problem occurs with
only one file or program, the most likely cause is a command error.
Call for the assistance of a service person.
If the above checks do not solve the problem, call for the assistance of a service person.
