8.1 Application Notes
8.1.1 GSM
The provider enables the requested services. A SIM card can be enabled for voice
and data services at the same time. The following table lists the usually available
cards and contracts.

8.1.2 GPRS
When using data services via GPRS, provider offer various contract options, espe-
cially regarding the pricing (basic price, basic data volume, billing unit). Please
contact your provider for further information.
In general, GPRS providers bill every time a connection is terminated and daily at
midnight (the provider will terminate the connection at this time), and all accu-
mulated data are rounded to the billing unit.
We therefore recommend to select a rate which offers the smallest possible bill-
ing unit.
Many GSM/GPRS providers offer so-called M2M rates, which have an exact 1 kb
billing matrix.
